Meet Jason, Jason Supports Replate

Our non-profit donation platform is one of the features we’re most proud of here at Atmos. We provide rewards for donating to a growing list of inspiring environmental organizations working to build a climate-safe future for all. 

Each month, we turn the spotlight on one of these amazing charities, through the lens of an Atmos customer. This month, meet Jason Manasse - entrepreneur, father, climate activist, and big fan of food-security non-profit Replate.

What change do you hope to see in the world? 

I would like to see building materials become sustainable, food grown and consumed locally, and for people to think before they buy. I bank with Atmos to focus on funding the right people, and the right businesses, in order to participate in a circular caring community.

What inspired you to make a recurring donation to Replate?

Food waste is not just waste – it has an environmental impact as well. Replate solves more than one problem - more like three, and all at once!

Replate’s mission is to create a world that doesn’t expire. Replate serves hundreds of businesses and communities across the US and, more recently, in the UAE (Dubai). 

‍

What does your organization do?

Replate makes it simple and quick for businesses to hand off surplus food, reduce waste, counter food insecurity and climate change, and understand the impact of their contributions. 

‍

What’s on the horizon for Replate? 

We want to expand our service in the Middle East. We’re focused on using our SaaS model to activate businesses and food rescue organizations anywhere to track the data metrics of food donations. We’ve been lucky enough to become a thought leader in states like California and New York, where there are laws being implemented to counter food waste, and we’re looking into how we can make an impact in international markets.

What change do you hope to see in the world? 

We follow the principles of a circular economy, where the goal is not growth but fulfillment. We hope for people to maximize the utility of our resources for the greater good of all. There’s more than enough food to feed everyone on the planet, yet people still go hungry. This is the gap we hope to fill.

Why did you choose to join the Atmos platform?

Atmos provides a new way of banking, to benefit the planet and our community. We love the mission and the approach – we need to invest in real solutions. To truly counter climate change, we need better infrastructure and support services, and there’s a cost to that. In the end, the investment will prove profound.
