We’re people who care about where we live — our homes, neighborhoods and the planet. Since 2001, we have been advancing sustainability in the built environment through community education, measurable standards and regional action. We make a difference by hosting original educational events, distributing the annual Green Building Directory, managing the Blue Horizons Project clean energy campaign, performing energy upgrades for low income households, and implementing programs such as Green Built Homes and Appalachian Offsets.
While the Green Built Alliance focuses their retrofit and outreach efforts on their local region of North Carolina, their freely distributed materials have been a vital resource to building performance specialists across the country. Our homes perform differently based on the local climate and so we need experts in each region to lead the transition to healthier, better performing homes and buildings. In Appalachia, one of those leaders is the Green Built Alliance. If you'd like to learn how to make your home healthier and more comfortable, while spending less on your energy bills, I suggest you read through their handy Homeowners Guide. - Ravi
