As a leading resource for information and insight to stop global warming, Project Drawdown seeks to help the world reach “Drawdown”— the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. Established 2014, Project Drawdown supports the growing number of cities, universities, corporations, philanthropies, policymakers, communities, educators and activists around the world looking to quickly advance effective, safe and equitable climate solutions in existence today.
In order to solve a complex problem like Climate Change, we first need to understand what are the myriad sources of greenhouse gas pollution, and what are the most impactful and cost-effective solutions. Project Drawdown has created both of these tools — useful for those of us already working to stop climate change and the multitutdes more who are joining in every day. This growth in our ranks, in both numbers and in diversity of who is joining is a direct result of their research which shows that there are impactful solutions outside of the oft-thought of techno-fixes like solar and wind power. By showing us what is needed, it allows all of us to come up with the plans that will work in our own communities. — Ravi
