Ventana Wildlife Society conserves native wildlife and their habitats through science, education, and collaboration.
I first came to know the Ventana Wildlife Society (VWS) in 2013 when my then-girlfriend, now-wife would send me links to the "Condor cam" to watch what she found beautiful and I only found strange. Being still new to California, I was only vaguely aware of the California Condor, its near-extinction and its slow return over the past 40 years. Watching more live-streams, seeing interviews with the VWS scientists, and best of all, seeing the condors flying above the shores of Big Sur has brought me to love these quirky, prehistoric birds too. I hope that other Atmos members will also come to love these birds and the other wildlife that VWS protects and support them in their great mission. — Ravi
